In FIFA 17, you can soon experience the story mode “The Journey” entirely in German.
As EA Sports announces, “The Journey” will receive a language update in the near future. This will allow you to set the story mode to German. Until now, it has only been possible to enjoy “The Journey” in English with German subtitles. The update is expected to be released this fall on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Famous voice actors lend their voices to the characters: Alex Hunter is voiced by David Turba (the German voice of Shia LaBeouf), team manager Butler by Charles Rettinghaus (Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Foxx), agent Michael Taylor is voiced by Torsten Michaelis (Sean Bean), and Jan Spitzer (J.K. Simmons, Danny Trejo) voices Jim Hunter, Alex’s grandfather.

In “The Journey”, you take on the role of young football talent Alex Hunter, who gets to experience the “Premier League”. The character goes through ups and downs, and you are there up close. The story is advanced through several cutscenes.
This first-time story mode in FIFA’s history was mostly received positively. The most common criticism lies in the brevity of the story, which essentially means: Fans want more of it. EA Sports also presented some interesting facts about “The Journey”.
Alex has already played more than 124 million matches
In an infographic, various numbers are mentioned. So far, 124 million matches have been played in “The Journey” and 164 million goals scored – and that in 183 countries worldwide.
With 18%, most players chose Manchester United, followed by Liverpool FC (11%), Leicester City (11%), Arsenal (10%), and West Ham United (8%). Overall, Alex celebrated 560,000 championships and over one million “FA Cup” victories. The majority of his loans were to Newcastle United. The average player rating is 8, and ball control was the most frequently chosen attribute.
