In the “Ultimate Team” mode of FIFA 17, there are thousands of player cards with individual ratings. Directly on the card, six ratings are displayed, which can be further divided into individual attributes. The six player ratings are Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defense, and Physicality. Depending on the position, some ratings are more significant for a player than others.
Especially for a center-back, it is important to have a high defensive rating to effectively take the ball away from opposing players. Therefore, it is not surprising that the top 10 defenders in FIFA 17 FUT are all center-backs. EA Sports recently released the top ten list.
Players for Defense
Among the best ten players with the highest defensive rating are three German players. Two center-backs from the Bundesliga are represented. Jerome Boateng from FC Bayern is even at the top.

However, keep in mind that a high defensive rating is not the only quality criterion for a center-back. Many players pay attention to good pace to handle agile, offensive speed dribblers effectively. Additionally, the physicality and size of the player, especially in central defense, are important.
