In recent days, the news of a possible “Ultimate Team” glitch in FIFA 16 has been circulating. EA Sports has now confirmed that something is not quite right in this mode and is working on a fix for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
In FIFA 16, the situation is currently heated: The community discovered inconsistencies in the popular “Ultimate Team” mode of the FIFA series using a skill move.
In short: It was concluded that chemistry only affects players that have been in the game since launch – chemistry affects player performance on the pitch, the higher it is, the better. It has absolutely no influence on all other players that are added later, such as in-form cards, TOTS, TOTY, etc. In other words: These are partly worse than the standard cards.
EA confirms issues in FUT
As this realization spread rapidly online and fueled the discussions of all those FIFA players who have always said: “Something is wrong, the TOTW player feels clumsy and sluggish”, EA Sports announced an investigation.
And now the surprising confirmation from EA Sports in the official forum:
Our work has shown that there seems to be some differences in how fitness and chemistry affect some FUT items. The differences seem to be consistent for all FUT fans, but they only apply to certain FUT items, which is why we are making some changes to ensure that the attributes are consistent across all items in the game.
To achieve this, they are currently working on a Title Update for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. This fix is intended to be delivered as quickly as possible for FIFA 16.
In conclusion, they thank the FUT community for their help. They also announce plans to make the mechanics behind FUT clearer for FIFA 17. They have recognized that fans are very interested in better understanding the mode.

What exactly the problem in FUT is, EA Sports does not specify. They speak of some inconsistencies with some FUT items. They are keeping a low profile and saying: Everything will be fine, we are working on a fix.
However, the extent of this glitch is indeed more drastic if the community’s findings are correct. Fans claim that they have noticed these issues not only since FIFA 16 but also since FIFA 09, since the beginning of FUT, although they could only prove it now.
If the community is correct, almost all “Team of the Week” cards were generally worse than the standard cards when considering chemistry. Only special cards with significantly improved attributes like TOTY or TOTS perform better overall. However, chemistry does not apply to them either. One aspect that EA Sports does not address at all: Many fans have invested significant amounts of money into the game to obtain these upgraded players. If it turns out that for all these years they did not get what they paid for, players will take to the barricades. The word “compensation” is increasingly being mentioned in the forums.
