Every year in winter, some players are upgraded in the FIFA series. Now the first player upgrades for the FIFA 16 Ultimate Team mode are coming!
A few minutes ago, EA Sports announced that the first winter upgrades are coming for FIFA 16. And not just anytime, but within the next hour.
That the upgrades are coming today is a bit surprising, as one would rather have expected them on February 15. This year, EA Sports seems to be ahead of schedule.
In the player upgrades, EA is referencing the performances of real players over the past months. This is to keep the football simulation up to date and recognize the performances of some players.
The following players will be upgraded first:
With Aubameyang and Xhaka, there are also two Bundesliga players among the provisional top 5. We will keep you updated.

Update: In total, 100 players were upgraded in FIFA 16 on Friday. EA presents this in a funny Excel sheet that you can download here. This will just be the first winter upgrade. Overall, they plan to upgrade players in FIFA Ultimate Team every Friday in February.
