The developers of Fellowship gave players on Steam the opportunity to try out their game. Now the beta is ending and players are drawing a positive conclusion.
What kind of game is this? Since September 18, 2025, the beta for the new Multiplayer Online Dungeon Adventure (MODA) Fellowship has been running. The game is fully focused on co-op and only offers dungeons and instances as content, just like MMORPGs.
The idea: Dungeon fun like in MMORPGs, but without annoying leveling phases, boring quests against the same monsters, and a scalable difficulty that not only increases damage and HP numbers but also adds new mechanics.
Players do not have to forgo loot and talents, as there are rewards and items for every completed dungeon. This concept players could test in the open beta until September 23 and are now explaining how good the game really is.

The concept works
How did the testers find the game? After the initial technical difficulties were overcome, the MODA was very well received by the players. The concept of pure MMORPG endgame as a standalone title works perfectly for them.
In several posts on Reddit, they particularly praise the difficulty level. It really ramps up from level 7 and makes perfect teamwork essential. Mechanics like interrupt sequences, proper positioning, and mastering a perfect rotation become indispensable.
Especially the target audience of MMORPG players, who simply no longer have the time for a real MMORPG like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV, seems to feel well taken care of. As Reddit user felipeds explains, he met up with his old raid members from the “WoW Cataclysm” and “Wrath of the Lich King” times and they were able to play together just like in the old days. For them, the brief MMORPG feeling has been perfectly achieved.
Is there also criticism? Yes, there is also criticism of Fellowship. This concerns quite different points. For instance, the technology was a major problem at the beginning, which sent many players to the queue.
Furthermore, players criticize details. The damage numbers are said to be very high according to a post on Reddit and should start lower so that their increase can be better noticed.
Also, the fact that chat bubbles do not appear over the heads while chatting, but everything runs through the chat window, bothers some testers on Reddit. Frequently, critics add the comment: The game is enjoyable, but this one thing could make it even better.
Fellowship is well received by the testers, and if the individual issues and criticisms are resolved before the launch on October 16, there will be nothing standing in the way of the new title. Especially the launch could be better: Fellowship wants to pack the best of MMORPGs into a compact co-op game, at the start of the beta the servers burst
