Parts of the community from WoW are still having a lot of fun getting their newly created Earthen to the new maximum level 80 as efficiently or curiously as possible. A duo of father and son have now taken it to the next level.
How did these Earthen reach level 80? You have probably already heard that the Earthen have a rather unexciting racial bonus, which grants 200 percent additional experience for discovering a location – making it possible to level the allied race quite efficiently into the new regions of The War Within without fights and quests.
A father and his son have now taken advantage of this circumstance to reach the maximum level solely by exploring areas, and this without even stepping onto the new continent of Khaz Algar (via Reddit). Only three creatures are said to have lost their lives during this journey. The duo’s trip lasted twelve hours and 54 minutes.

How did the two manage this? As good as the bonus of the Earthen is to extract as much experience as possible from discovering locations, there is very little XP to be gained when Chromie’s time is no longer available and you discover the areas before The War Within with a character at level 71+. Therefore, most players switch to Khaz Algar at the latest.
Not so for Competitive-Hall6922 and his son. After the two leveled up to level 73 by exploring the Dragon Isles, the father had the idea to create a test account for WoW and invite a low-level third character to the group.
With the group synchronization introduced in patch 8.2.5, the trio was able to use Chromie’s time again. The high-level Earthen were downscaled to level 71. This was enough to somewhat effectively master the final level climbs to 80 without even entering the regions of The War Within.
In the originally linked Reddit post, you will find various screenshots that document the unusual trip. There, you will also see the two level 80 Earthen posing with their equipment with item level 10. You will also see the “X-53 Touring Rocket” from the “Recruit a Friend” campaign, which made exploring the zones together quite easy.
