In Far Cry 5 (Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC) you have to take the power over the fictional Hope County, Montana, away from the charismatic cult leader Joseph Seed. However, to confront Seed, you must first deal with his family. We introduce you to the lieutenants of Far Cry 5.
In the guise of a police rookie, you will immediately face a fanatical cult. You are tasked with capturing the cult leader Joseph Seed. However, the mission does not go according to plan. Now you are on your own and must seek support from the population of Hope County. You can find this by reducing the power and influence of the heralds of the cult leader.
If you take on the three lieutenants Faith, John, and Jacob, you will not only find more supporters for your resistance but also force a confrontation with the cult leader himself.
Furthermore, by battling the heralds, you also unlock a fourth weapon for your character. While you can carry a third weapon through the perk “Additional Holster”, the space for a fourth firearm will be unlocked after you have dealt with your first lieutenant.

How to find the three lieutenants
The three siblings of the cult leader have divided Hope County among themselves, while the leader Joseph Seed claims the center of the region for himself. To confront the three heralds, certain points must be reached in the three areas for the resistance.
- Jacob Seed is in the north of the map and requires 10,000 points
- Faith Seed is in the east and requires 13,000 points
- John Seed can be found in the west and also requires 13,000 points
The most points for the resistance can be earned through the main missions in the respective regions. However, you can also take on side missions, destroy cult buildings, and rescue hostages or outposts to strengthen the rebellion.
These nasty guys you will have to deal with
The lieutenants of the cult, also called heralds, can be found in the areas of Whitetail Mountains, Henbane River and Holland Valley. Which one you confront first is entirely up to you.
Jacob Seed – the Soldier
As the recruiter of the cult and a former sniper in the Army, it is Jacob’s job, the oldest of the Seed brothers, to protect “Project at Eden’s Gate”. In doing so, he forces the locals to join the cult and tortures anyone who resists him. Jacob can be found in the Whitetail Mountains.
Once you have defeated Jacob, you will receive his sniper rifle.
To take him down, you can complete the following activities in the region:
- Recruit 3 specialists
- Complete 41 missions
- Capture 4 outposts
- Destroy 10 buildings of the cult
Faith Seed – The Siren
Faith is Joseph’s voice and produces the drug Bliss to keep the community in a state of bliss. Faith is a master manipulator and is also not averse to lying. She was lured into joining the cult by Joseph at the age of 17 and is now responsible for the area around Henbane River.
Once you have defeated Faith, you will receive the weapon “Sins Eater”, which you can find in shops under the tab “Sidearms”.
To take her down, you can complete the following activities in the region:

- Complete 43 missions
- Capture 8 outposts
- Destroy 16 buildings of the cult
John Seed – The Inquisitor
John uses intimidation, religion, and violence to procure vital resources for the cult. He doesn’t care whether it involves a house or a person. The younger brother of the cult leader is a trained jurist and probably the most sadistic member of the Seed family. John, who is also known as the Baptizer, enjoys tattooing the “sins” on the skin of the community members. John can be found in Holland Valley.
Once you have defeated John, his plane “Affirmation” will be available to you. You can select planes at hangars.
To take him down, you can complete the following activities in the region:
- Recruit 3 specialists
- Complete 52 missions
- Capture 7 outposts
- Destroy 14 buildings of the cult
