A small trailer from Blizzard is causing a stir. Are these the first images of WoW Classic?
The players of World of Warcraft are currently divided into two camps. While one group is eagerly awaiting the release of the next expansion “Battle for Azeroth”, the rest are longing for the release of “Classic” servers.
After many years of begging, pleading, and demanding, Blizzard announced at last year’s BlizzCon that there would finally be classic servers for World of Warcraft. But when exactly they will come is still uncertain.
Now there is a first hint that the development of Classic servers might already be in full swing and progressing well. The European Twitter account of WoW published a tweet reminding that WoW has been around in Europe for 13 years. Attached to this tweet is a short video with the question “When did you create your first character?”
Hints about Classic servers hidden in detail
The community was sharp and immediately dissected this small trailer and examined the details closely. The scenes were apparently not recorded on a current server, as they use the old models and the “classic” starting positions of player characters.
However, it also seems that this is not old video material, as the shadows of the objects are clearly better and more detailed than they were in the times of Vanilla-WoW.
The conclusion is that the scenes were recorded on an internal Classic server of Blizzard.
However, there is still no release date for WoW Classic. Many fans even consider 2018 unrealistic, as the developers announced at BlizzCon that it would be a “long-term endeavor.”
Are you excited about World of Warcraft: Classic? Or do you not want to ruin your nostalgic memories? When do you think the Classic servers will be released?
