On September 6, 2023, Starfield, the latest role-playing game from Bethesda for Xbox Series X|S and PC, will be released – PS5 players are left empty-handed, which is why a desperate fan is trying to bring Starfield to Sony’s console with a petition.
For the creators of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, Starfield is also the first new franchise in 25 years, so comparisons to other Bethesda titles are inevitable.
There is also a heated discussion on the social network Reddit about how large Starfield will be and whether it can surpass Skyrim as one of the best role-playing games of all time.
94 score on Metacritic and 60 million units sold
Which role-playing game does Starfield have to surpass? With The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda set a milestone. The role-playing game remains extremely popular and successful to this day.
Just in June, Starfield Game Director Todd Howard said in an interview with IGN (via YouTube) that Skyrim has sold over 60 million copies.
Additionally, there is a 94 score for the PC version on the review platform Metacritic and 94% positive reviews on Steam – with over 130,000 reviews.
