Fallout 76 is full of monsters, some more and others less dangerous. A few of these creatures are mythical beings, partly inspired by legends and tales from the real world. Which of these mythical monsters are you?
Which monsters are we talking about? These legendary monsters are beings that can be better described as phenomena. In real life, they are sightings by people who claim to have noticed something supernatural.
Often, these sightings coincide independently, leading to legends about mythical beings. These beings, whose existence is mostly scientifically doubted, are called cryptids. These are monsters like:
- Bigfoot
- Wendigos
- Vampires
- Werewolves
In Fallout 76, Bethesda has taken inspiration from some of these cryptids. Since the Fallout series is known for its crazy monsters, these fit well into the universe. Their existence is often justified, as is the case with most monsters in Fallout, by radioactive radiation and mutation.
Since Fallout 76 takes place in Appalachia in West Virginia, Bethesda has mainly focused on cryptids whose legends originated in West Virginia. In this process, so many details have been incorporated that the whole state is flipping out.
