Fallout 76 has received a new patch that fixes several bugs. The patch is just a small hotfix, but it addresses a problem that has been bothering the community for quite some time.
This is what the patch brings: On December 19, a new patch for Fallout 76 was released. This fixes bugs on PC that caused the game to crash and implements the Korean language.
In addition, players using explosive ammunition and certain weapons can now deal damage to enemies properly again. The enemies no longer heal immediately against it.
Server Maintenance on December 19 – Patch Notes
The following bugs will be fixed: Bethesda has published the patch notes for the new hotfix in an official blog post. They are quite brief. Among other things, bugs were fixed on PC that
- caused the game to crash when quitting.
- allowed outdated clients to connect to the game and caused errors.
The developers have also fixed an exploit that allowed players to duplicate items. It should no longer be possible to double weapons and armor.
Finally normal damage again: Additionally, a bug in Fallout 76 has been resolved that has been causing frustration for some players for a long time. For weapons that deal a lot of damage, there was a long-standing problem where the enemies did not receive the intended damage.
While the projectiles hit and caused damage, the enemies almost simultaneously healed by nearly the same amount. It was nearly impossible to kill enemies.
This bug should now be fixed on all consoles. Players can now deal the intended damage again using explosive ammunition, high-damage weapons, and explosives.
How big is the patch? This time, the hotfix is a smaller patch. However, it varies in size across different platforms.
- Xbox players will download several hundred MB
- PC players wanting to play in Korean, as well as PS4 players in Asia (excluding Japan), will also download several hundred MB
- PC players not wanting to play in Korean will download less
- PS4 players in America, Europe, and Japan do not need to download a hotfix at all
The Korean language pack could already be downloaded on consoles, which is why the actual patch on December 19 is smaller.
The patch is likely to be the last one for 2018. Fallout 76 already has some plans for 2019.
