Fallout 76 has released new information about the upcoming Patch 9. With the new update, content that has been promised for many months and that fans have been eagerly waiting for will finally arrive.
Patch 9 is the next major update for Fallout 76 and will likely be titled “Always Upwards”. The new patch is expected to be released on May 7, 2019, and will include some new features.
These are the features from Patch 9 in Fallout 76
Player shops are coming: One feature that Bethesda announced back in January 2019 is the player shops. Through these, players will be able to sell their items to others without having to trade constantly.
To do this, they simply set up vending machines. They then fill these with the items from their storage that they want to sell and set an amount of caps they wish to receive for them. A 10% fee is applied.
The vending machines can easily be placed in C.A.M.P.s. However, whoever sets up a vending machine and offers goods will have their camp visible on the entire map as long as it is not being “searched”.
Player shops were supposed to be implemented as early as April 9, 2019, but were postponed several times, so they will now arrive on May 7.
This feature has been eagerly awaited by players for a long time. Many fans wanted their own stores so badly that they simply created shops themselves because Bethesda was taking too long for their taste.
Legendary exchange machines: Another feature, previously announced in a roadmap, is the legendary merchant – more specifically, the legendary merchantess. A mole miner lady will appear at the end of the month.
At the beginning of Patch 9, exchange machines will come into play as preparation. They can be found at all train stations. Here you can exchange legendary items for exchange tickets.
Once the merchantess appears, you can buy new equipment from her for tickets.
Buffs and adjustments for weapons: After heavy weapons have already received a buff, Bethesda now wants to adjust other weapons as well. The following changes will be made:
- the base damage of plasma weapons will be increased by 30%
- the base damage of enclave plasma weapons will be increased by 10-30%
- the displayed damage of explosive shotguns will be adjusted (there was a visual bug in the Pip-Boy). Additionally, a bug will be fixed that caused them to deal too much damage
- when crafting flamethrower ammunition, 20 units will now be produced (previously 5)
- when crafting cryolator ammunition, 25 units will now be produced (previously 15)
Backpacks and new adventure: Additionally, the questline “Always Upwards” is planned, which is not mentioned in the preview but has already been known in advance.
Through the quest, you can become a scout and continuously rise in ranks, even earn backpacks that serve as refrigerators and increase carrying capacity.
There will also be some revisions to the leaderboard of the survival mode, for which feedback has previously been collected from the community.
The planned showcases, with which you can display your weapons, bobbleheads, and other items, will come at a later time. They are still being tested.
