Fallout 76 captivates with many quirky items that especially inspire smiles and amusement. However, a particular helmet has caught the attention of a player, who claims that it has a secret function.
All over Appalachia, there are various pieces of equipment to be found, many of which are intended for cosmetic purposes only. This includes headgear that usually serves no other purpose than to look good.

More rare monsters through the tin foil hat?
This is what the player says: The user lucmwis shared on reddit his experience with tin foil hats. He discovered the headgear while rummaging through his stash and thought he would give it a try.
His suspicion was that he would have a higher chance of encountering cryptids. These are rare, mythical monsters.
When he put it on and traveled to Pleasant Valley Station, he even encountered a Mothman shortly afterwards.
What is a Mothman? The Mothman is one of the legendary monsters in Fallout 76, bringing to life legends and tales from West Virginia.
The Mothman is a slightly more than human-sized, insect-like entity with two large, red eyes, antennae, and wings. It is dark, almost black, and aside from its eyes, it is hard to spot in most environments.
There are even stories about the Mothman in Fallout 76, and he apparently has already befriended some players.

In the swamp, near the border to Savage Divide and north of Berkley Springs, between the Springs and Mosstown, you will find a toilet in the middle of nowhere. You need Lockpick 0, so at least a bobby pin, to open it. Inside, you will find a skeleton head on two hands wearing a tin foil hat.
