The legendary bird trio consisting of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, as well as Lugia, will stay in Pokémon GO for a few more days.
Anyone who hasn’t had the chance to catch Lugia, Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres yet will again have the opportunity from Niantic. The four birds can still be caught in raid battles in the coming days.
Niantic has now revealed how long the time window will remain open before the birds fly away and are no longer available in Pokémon GO.
Legendary Birds Until the End of August in Pokémon GO
Initially, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos were only available to catch in Pokémon GO for one week each. Many trainers were frustrated that they couldn’t catch one of the legendary Pokémon during the first time windows. However, now the adventure continues, and trainers get another chance to encounter these special birds.
As Niantic explains in a blog post, thousands of legendary Pokémon have already been defeated in raid battles. Together with you, the developers want to celebrate this success and are giving you an extension.
You can again challenge the four Pokémon Lugia, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos in raid battles in Pokémon GO from August 14, 2017, to August 31, 2017. You then have another opportunity to add these special specimens to your collection.
Catching Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia – How to Counter Effectively
To win the battle against the legendary monsters, it is advisable to attack with strong Pokémon. You have a good chance of victory with Pokémon that counter the birds. Tyranitar and Golem are often a good choice. In our guides, we show you everything you need to know about the legendary Pokémon.
- Defeating Articuno: With Amparo and Flareon, you have a good chance.
- Defeating Moltres: Not only Golem and Tyranitar are strong
- Defeating Zapdos: Lots of Ice helps. Golem and Tyranitar also stand out.
- Defeating Lugia: These monsters will make the battle easier for you.
It remains legendary: As the developers have already announced, Pokémon GO trainers can expect more legendary adventures. This will now happen through Mewtwo, which will appear in exclusive raids in the coming weeks. For this, however, you need an invitation. We explain how the exclusive raids work in Pokémon GO here.
