An expert panel has chosen the best television in the world. However, in first place is neither Samsung nor LG, which are among the most popular brands on the market. Instead, a Chinese product takes the top spot. But what makes this television so good that experts rate it so highly?
Who are these experts? The EISA or European Imaging and Sound Association
is an association founded in 1989. It unites more than 50 European media organizations specializing in audiovisual media. Every year, the EISA creates a ranking of various products in categories related to sound, TV, and hi-fi.
This year, the experts voted again. And this year, the first place is not occupied by a brand like Samsung, LG, or Sony.
A television from China ranks 1st in the best TVs of 2024
What is the best television in the world? The allegedly best television in the world is said to come from the Chinese manufacturer TCL. TCL is one of the largest manufacturers in the world, with over 75,000 employees and a revenue of nearly 14 billion US dollars. Just a few months ago, the company introduced a new television that could pose strong competition for Samsung and LG.
This specifically refers to the model 115X955 Max. This is a television with 115 inches, making it a huge device. The model features 20,000 zones for local dimming and uses mini-LED technology.
With a 4K resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and Quantum Dot technology, the television is expected to offer lifelike colors and impressive detail depth. The HDR brightness of up to 5,000 nits and support for various HDR formats like Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, and HLG is also a plus.
Are there any downsides? Yes, because the device is not perfect. For example, testers from DigitalesFernsehen explain that the television sometimes has issues with local dimming: faces in dark scenes can sometimes be severely overexposed, but a software update is expected. The viewing angle stability is also a negative aspect: if you watch the television at an angle, the picture quickly deteriorates.
How much does the television cost? Here we come to the disadvantage
of the television, as the 115X955 Max is not exactly cheap, even though TCL has long been considered a budget provider.
You can currently purchase the television at Euronics and Heimkinoraum. The price is currently at 24,999 euros. The provider “Heimkinoraum” also delivers the device only in the greater Munich area, but at least for free.
But televisions can get much more expensive: The manufacturer LG has introduced a series of new televisions, including an 8K television with 325 inches, which is about 3 times larger than the TCL model.
