EA has confirmed a Deep Dive into FC 26: One of the most important shooting mechanics will be eliminated. However, there are already hints from an expert about what could become the new meta instead. If you want to prepare well, you should start practicing it right now.
Who is the expert? Benedikt “BeneCR7x” Bauer is a content creator and former eSports player for EA FC (previously FIFA). He became famous for his dangerous crosses in FIFA 23. The deliveries, which resulted in goals many times and were hardly defendable, earned him the nickname “BugBene”.
Since EA FC 24, BeneCR7x has been one of the experts for EA FC who work closely with the development team in Canada. He is also among the selected experts in FC 25 who were allowed to test the new successor early.
As part of this testing, he also conducted an interview with the lead gameplay developer, Thomas Caleffi Scaletscky, about the new gameplay and subsequently uploaded it on his YouTube channel. The roughly one-hour Q&A session discussed numerous gameplay changes.
A significant area focused on the shots. A shot could become the measure of all things in FC 26, and according to expert BeneCR7x, you should already pay more attention to the shot in FC 25.
Practice Precision Shot in FC 25: Here’s How
What kind of shot is this? This refers to the Precision Shot. This allows you to place your shots with more accuracy and power. The Precision Shot offers only a semi-manual shooting assistance compared to the default assisted shot and is comparable to aiming during a power shot.
Aiming is more challenging because you need to hold the left stick very accurately in the direction you want the ball to fly at the moment of the shot. If you aim accurately, there’s a good chance your attempt will hit the inside post. However, if you misalign the left stick, your shot is likely to miss the goal.
How do you execute the Precision Shot? To perform the shot in the game, you need to change a setting before or during the game:
- open the settings
- go to game settings
- look under the option “Gameplay” for the “Shot” tab
- under the shooting assistance point, you must change the preset from “Assisted” to “Precision”
In the game, you will quickly realize that you need to aim better when shooting. A small white cursor appears to indicate the current direction of the shot when charging a shot.
How do you train the Precision Shot? To familiarize yourself with aiming, we recommend training the shot without much opposition. The easiest way to do this is to set your opponent’s difficulty to “Beginner” or “Amateur” in kick-off mode.
Take your time and see how much you can move the left stick in one direction so that the shot ideally goes into the corner of the goal and not past the net.
Make sure to try the Precision Shot from all possible positions and angles to be prepared for any situation in a game against stronger opponents.
Precision Shot could replace Timed Finish as the meta
Why could the Precision Shot become the new meta? In a discussion between gameplay producer Caleffi and expert BeneCR7x, the Precision Shot was announced as a strong new alternative to the Timed Finish.
Timed Finishing had been one of the features that set the strongest players apart from the rest since FIFA 19. With a perfectly timed click of the shoot button, you could add extra power and precision to all your shots using the Timed Finish.
In FC 26, there will no longer be a Timed Finish. EA employee Caleffi explained the elimination by stating that it had been very complicated for gameplay producers to balance the shot animations with the Timed Finish, as the Timed Finish could influence the final executed animation until the last moment.
The new skill gap created could now be filled by the Precision Shot. Early practice in the last weeks of FC 25 could therefore pay off for you in FC 26.
Fans of the career mode have an outspoken player in Twitch streamer Simon GamerBrother Schildgen, who wanted to present his suggestions for changes to EA directly for the popular single-player mode: Twitch streamer praises FC 26 for new career feature – wants EA to consider 2 things that would make the mode even better
