Evolve has received a new character. Abe no longer wants to be a Trapper, but is now an Assault!
Abe sheds the Trapper gear
During all the hustle and bustle around GamesCom, one can lose sight of other games a bit. This was also somewhat the case with Evolve, which secretly released a new Hunter over the weekend. “Renegade Abe” is the already known Trapper Abe in a completely new guise. The most significant change: Abe is now an Assault!
We take a quick look at his weapons.
- The shotgun Penitence deals low damage, but poisons the opponent for a few seconds. In the alternative fire mode, the damage increases, but there is no poisoning.
- The Nerve Toxin Dart poisons the monster for a few seconds and deals low damage. At the same time, the damage the monster receives from all other sources increases!
- The Corrosive Grenade poisons enemies in the target area and reduces the damage the monster deals.
- Lastly, there’s the Lesser Defensive Matrix, which reduces all damage taken for a few seconds – the classic ability shared by all Assaults.
The developers even thought up a little “story” for Abe. He is no longer the nice, charismatic Trapper, but has taken up the weapons of his fallen friends to now act as a bitter, hardened warrior against the monsters of Shear.
Renegade Abe can be unlocked in the shop for 8,000 Silver Keys. Players with “Founder” status who already own Abe get the adaptation for free.
