In Fortnite: Battle Royale will soon start Season 9. This means a new Battle Pass, a new theme, and map changes. Read here what we already know about the start date, end, and more, and what theories exist.
When does Season 9 start? The 9th Season of Fortnite begins on May 9, 2019.
What will the Battle Pass cost? Epic hasn’t said anything about it, but it’s very likely that the new Battle Pass won’t be more expensive than the previous ones. Then the price would again be 9.50 Euros or 950 V-Bucks.
As a special feature, the pass may be gifted this time according to a leak. However, you probably won’t be able to unlock it for free this time.
How will Season 8 end? The current Season 8 had a complex end event. A huge bunker facility appeared at Loot Lake. It was gradually activated by mysterious runes.
With each rune that was activated at the bunker, the volcano began to emit more smoke. In the end, the volcano erupted and two things happened:
- The vault was opened, and you could retrieve one of 6 banished items. The choice fell on the drum gun.
- The volcanic eruption led to the destruction of Tilted Towers and Retail Row.
What is the theme of Season 9? So far, there is no concrete information from Epic about this. However, there was already a first teaser for Season 9 that shows a futuristic outfit and suggests a sci-fi setting with the words “The Future is Unknown.”
The second teaser seems to further confirm this. Once again, a futuristic figure with a helmet can be seen. Also, the individual images appear to be writing something that might mean “NEW.” So will there be a completely new map?
Other players suspect that the dragon eggs will finally hatch and there will be even more fantasy content.
How will the map change? The volcano has erupted and destroyed Retail Row and Tilted Towers. The iceberg at Polar Peak has also taken a hit and now has cracks.
Tilted and Retail now look like post-apocalyptic ruins full of debris and lava. However, these places will probably not stay that way. In Season 9, new locations might emerge in their places. Perhaps also with a futuristic theme.
Additionally, Salty Springs has hardly changed so far. Maybe a renovation is due here sometime.
