The first season of Apex Legends has finally begun. You can now purchase the Battle Pass and unlock great new content.
What’s included in the Battle Pass? Season 1 is themed “Wild Frontier” and has now started. If you own the Battle Pass, you can unlock the following things in Apex Legends over multiple tiers:
A free “basic version of the Battle Pass” is available. This already includes some items:
- a skin for the new legend Octane
- 5 loot boxes
- 18 “stat trackers”
The Battle Pass itself contains 100 tiers, where you can unlock more and more loot. We have already picked out the highlights of the Battle Pass for you. You can find more information on the official website.
How much does the Battle Pass cost? The Battle Pass is available in 2 versions:
- the “normal” Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins (about €9.50)
- the “Battle Pass Bundle” for 2800 Apex Coins (about €28)
The bundle unlocks the first 25 tiers of the Battle Pass immediately. Apex Coins are currently particularly inexpensive on Amazon.
How do I get the Battle Pass? If you want to buy the Battle Pass, just check the in-game menu in Apex Legends. You will find it under the tab “Battle Pass”.
If you need to top up your account first, you can do this via the “Apex Coins” tab or directly through Origin on PC.

How do I unlock rewards? Currently, there are no challenges for the first Battle Pass of Apex Legends. This means you unlock rewards by “grinding”.
In addition to your normal experience, you gather a “season XP” with the Battle Pass. This helps you level up and earn skins, loot boxes, and Apex Coins.
Challenges that might allow you to level up faster could be introduced at a later date or in a future season.
Additionally, Apex Legends offers the so-called “Legend Bonus”. This grants you bonus XP when you play with the respective Legend.
Can I unlock the next Battle Pass? Yes. Essentially, a Battle Pass is a one-time investment, even in Apex Legends.
The pass costs 950 Apex Coins. The developers have already confirmed that you can unlock up to 1000 Apex Coins in the Battle Pass.
If you save this, you can buy the Battle Pass in the next season without additional payment.
The patch notes for the new update
Along with the Battle Pass, the new legend Octane has been released. Octane has the following abilities, which were already known through a leak:
- Swift Mend: As long as Octane takes no damage, he heals himself passively
- Adrenaline Junkie: Sacrifices 10% of health points to be 30% faster for 6 seconds
- Launch Pad: Deploys a jump pad
Additionally, changes will be made to some Legends, in order to bring a bit more balance to the game. There have also been adjustments to performance and gameplay, and numerous bugs have been fixed. You can find the complete patch notes in English on reddit.
What else will come in Season 1 and later seasons is not yet known. However, there is a roadmap of Apex Legends with rough goals.
