Do you want to try the new Modern Warfare yourself? The release of the 2019 reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is approaching. Those who want to get a glimpse of the game before the launch on October 25, 2019, will have a chance – in the form of the Modern Warfare 2019 Beta.
This beta was announced during the multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare by Infinity Ward.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta – All Information
How can you participate in the beta? The beta test is intended to give all interested parties the opportunity to take a look at the game. In principle, anyone who has a PS4, Xbox One, or PC can participate.
The beta of Modern Warfare will then be available through the respective platform stores or launchers.
Is there an open beta? The beta itself is somewhat open: a part is open, and a part is reserved for pre-orderers.
Your platform also plays a role in when you can test Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. One weekend is completely PS4-exclusive. There will also be the opportunity to receive early access to the beta.
When is the Modern Warfare beta taking place?
The beta will take place in September and will be divided into two weeks.
Week 1 – PS4-exclusive:
- The first test phase takes place from September 12 to September 16.
- This phase is only accessible to PS4 players.
- From September 12 to September 13, players with early access can start playing.
- From September 14 to September 16, all interested PS4 players can participate in the beta.
Week 2 – PS4, Xbox One, PC:
- The second phase runs from September 19 to September 23.
- This phase is accessible to players across all platforms.
- From September 19 to September 20, players with early access can try Modern Warfare on Xbox One and PC for the first time.
- On PS4, the beta will be open to all players from September 19 to September 20.
- From September 21 to September 23, all interested parties can try out the game on all platforms.

Pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: To get early access to the Modern Warfare beta, you must pre-order any version of the game.

If you pre-order digitally, your early access will be automatically registered and granted. If you order a physical version, you will receive a Modern Warfare beta code from the respective retailer/provider, which you must first redeem on the official beta page in order to participate in the early test.
Everything about the Preload of the Modern Warfare Beta
Is there a preload? Yes, there is a preload.
Preload on PS4: On PS4, you can download the Modern Warfare beta starting September 10.
Preload on PC and Xbox One: On Xbox One and PC, the preload is expected to start sometime in the week of September 16 – but before September 19.

What you can play in the Modern Warfare Beta – All about the content
What are the contents of the Modern Warfare beta? Activision has finally officially revealed what content you can look forward to in the beta:
- there will be a multiplayer beta
- on the second weekend, crossplay between PC, PS4, and Xbox One will be tested
- the 2vs2 mode Gunfight from the alpha will also be available in the beta
- there will be classic 6vs6 gameplay
- the largest mode of Modern Warfare – Ground War – will be available in the beta
- players will have access to the new Gunsmith feature

However, it can be assumed that other multiplayer features such as:
- some operators
- or killstreaks
can also be tested. Additionally, it will be interesting for many to see how well the dedicated servers of the new Call of Duty perform.

Do you need PS Plus or Xbox Live for the Modern Warfare Beta?
What Activision says:
- On Xbox One, an active “Xbox Live Gold” membership is required.
- On PS4, according to the official statement, an active PS Plus membership is required – at least in Germany.
- No additional services are required on PC.
