The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is coming in June, but soon some chosen ones will be able to explore the island of Vvardenfell in the Closed Beta on the test server. You can find out here what the requirements for Beta access are.
In just under two months, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, the first major stand-alone add-on to ZeniMax’s successful online role-playing game will finally be released. Morrowind takes us back to Vvardenfell, the quirky volcanic island that many players have enjoyed over 15 years ago in the third Elder Scrolls game.
If you can hardly wait in nostalgic anticipation to travel through ash deserts on Strider and deal with annoying Cliff Racers, you can look forward to it! ZeniMax is planning a large Closed Beta for ESO: Morrowind!
The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind – The Contents of the Closed Beta
The Beta for Morrowind will run on the public test server like all other ESO contents. You can simply download it from the corresponding tab in the launcher of The Elder Scrolls Online.
But beware: The PTS client is as large as the regular ESO client and will take up several gigabytes on your hard drive!
Once you have downloaded it, you can play ESO regularly on the test server and try out the new features. However, regular players only have access to the general changes of the update 14 that will be released with Morrowind, meaning the bug fixes and balance changes that one would get without purchasing the expansion.
Morrowind Closed Beta – How to Get Access
If you want the whole Morrowind program, you need a special invitation from ZeniMax. This will be sent to selected players who have previously stood out with constructive feedback during past PTS tests. You cannot apply yourself.
Those who are selected and accept must also sign a confidentiality agreement and may not reveal anything until the release of Morrowind. The Beta for Morrowind will start “in a few weeks”, likely at the end of April/beginning of May.
Morrowind beta testers will have access to:
- The entire island of Vvardenfell
- The new PvP battlegrounds
- The new warden class with bears
- The new raid “Hall of Fabrication”
