With the “New Year’s Fest”, The Elder Scrolls Online celebrates Christmas and New Year’s together. Players can complete various tasks and receive great rewards .
During the New Year’s Fest, you can unlock style pages, collectibles, and a special Frost Astronach skin. We will show you how to obtain the skin. Additionally, there are double experience points.
Every race celebrates Christmas differently
This is how you start the holiday quests: Before you can dive deeper into the customs of the individual races, you need to get the New Year’s Fest scroll from the crown shop. Use the scroll in your inventory, which will give you a quest that leads you directly to the festive Nord, Breda, who is waiting for you in Windhelm.
These quests are available: You will receive one of nine possible quests that will send you all across Tamriel. For the quests, you do not need to have ESO Plus or own any of the DLCs. The following quests are available:

How long does the event last? The New Year’s Fest starts on December 13th at 4 PM and runs until January 2nd, 2019 at 4 PM.
Collect gifts and get rewarded
What the boxes contain for the New Year’s Fest: For successfully completing the quests, you will receive festive containers. The containers can contain various items:
- A chapter about the style of the shapeshifter
- A special recipe for the New Year’s Fest in the qualities green, blue, and gold.
- Various collectibles, including a Nordic bath towel, a mud bag, and a Colovian fur cap.
- Consumables, style, and crafting materials.
During the event, you can purchase various seasonal items in the crown shop. This includes a special house that lets you live in a snow globe.
How do I receive the double XP? You can complete a small quest for Breda, which rewards you upon completion with a memento that grants you double experience points during the New Year’s Fest. This bonus stacks with other bonuses from experience scrolls or the XP bonus from ESO Plus.
With the Crystal Frost appearance, you look like a Frost Astronach
This is how you unlock the Crystal Frost appearance: During the event, players can enjoy a special skin. The Crystal Frost appearance gives you the look of a freezing Frost Astronach. To obtain the skin, you must complete the achievement “New Charitable”.
For the achievement, you need to fulfill 12 charity writings. You acquire the writings with a certain probability when you submit one of the daily tasks of the New Year’s Fest to the NPC Breda.
In the gallery, you can take a look at the offerings of the merchants from whom you need to shop.
These crafting skills do you need: To fulfill the writings, you need to craft various basic furniture. You can obtain the blueprints from carpenters, blacksmiths, and tailors. For crafting, you need specific passive skills:
- Tailoring 4. The talent is unlocked at level 15 in tailoring.
- Carpentry 3. You can unlock this talent once you reach level 10 in carpentry.
- Blacksmithing 2. You can unlock the talent once your blacksmithing skill reaches level 5.
Once you have all the blueprints and the corresponding materials together, you go to a crafting table and craft the item that the crafting writing specifies.
