Finally, the time has come. The hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov has entered Closed Beta. Registrations have been open since February 2016.

The Long Road to the Start of Escape from Tarkov’s Closed Beta
- Escape from Tarkov was announced at the end of November 2015.
- A beta was always on the horizon, players could sign up for a beta as early as February 2016.
- The beta launch was initially planned for the end of March 2016, but it remained in Alpha for a long time, which was declared “Extended Alpha” at the end of 2016.
- But only now, in the summer of 2017, is it happening: the beta starts.
As Battlestate Games announces, “Escape from Tarkov” has finally begun its Closed Beta. Anyone with Early Access can start now or will be able to start soon.
Within a week, everyone who has purchased a Tarkov package should have received the invitation, who have purchased a package for Tarkov.

What is Escape from Tarkov?
Escape from Tarkov is essentially the ultra-hot PC-exclusive shooter that everyone has been waiting for before PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds donned that mantle in 2017.
Tarkov is not a game designed for quick matches; instead, it aims to be an ultra-hardcore shooter that places realism above all else. Military experts were even consulted to make the game more realistic.
From the Alpha earlier this year, it was said that the game has tremendous potential but is mercilessly hard. A player must earn everything in the game, and a single mistake could cost them everything.
A merciless slaughter awaits players who dare to engage.
Competition in the Shooter Market – Can the Hidden Gem Take Off?
In 2016, Escape from Tarkov was seen as the shooter everyone was waiting for. In 2017, however, things became quieter around the game. While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds quickly went into Early Access and exploded on Twitch, Escape from Tarkov remained in Beta for a long time and was considered more of a hidden gem for experts.
It will be interesting to see if that will change now and if the hidden gem will gain traction.
