The addons Planetary Landings and The Engineers for Elite: Dangerous are making their way to Xbox One.
Those who play the space game Elite Dangerous on Xbox One currently have access to fewer content than PC players. The Horizons addon with planetary landings and the upcoming expansion The Engineers are not yet available for Xbox players.
Addons will be available soon for Xbox One
However, this will change soon. The developers announced that the expansions Planetary Landings and The Engineers, which are included in the Horizons package, will be released in June. While a specific date has not yet been mentioned, it is definitely expected to be before the end of June. With Planetary Landings, players will be able to land on planets and drive around in a type of tank, while The Engineers introduces customization and crafting options for the spaceships.
Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous Horizons are fully compatible with each other. Thus, those who do not own the addons can still play with all other players in the same universe. They just cannot utilize the new content.
The space in Virtual Reality
Anyone who owns a virtual reality headset has the opportunity to play Elite Dangerous in VR. The developers remind players of this by releasing a new trailer that highlights and showcases the VR capabilities. However, there was a small issue. It was not entirely clear whether Elite Dangerous is compatible with the Oculus Rift headset. Support for it was announced and it was playable on the dev kits, but then the developers decided to support SteamVR. With the new trailer, they want to show that Elite Dangerous is indeed compatible with the Oculus Rift VR headset.
