On December 27, actress Carrie Fisher passed away at the age of just 60. A few days earlier, she suffered a heart attack during a flight from London to Los Angeles, was resuscitated, and was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital. Although her condition reportedly stabilized, she still died on December 27. Carrie Fisher is known to many as Princess Leia from the Star Wars films.
A space station in honor of Carrie Fisher
Not only in the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic is the actress being honored, but Frontier Developments also wants to pay their respects. For this purpose, a new space station will be introduced in the online game Elite: Dangerous with the upcoming update 2.3. “Fisher’s Rest” is a tribute to Carrie Fisher. The idea came from the players of the space game, who approached the developers to ask for a way to honor Carrie Fisher.
The release date is still unknown
Executive Producer Michael Brookes stated that the team liked the idea and that they would introduce the mentioned space station in honor of the actress with “Fisher’s Rest.” However, the release date for update 2.3 is still unknown. It is planned for the year 2017. Then players will be able to gather at the station and pay their respects to Carrie Fisher.
