In Elite Dangerous , players will soon be able to be pampered by the captain of all captains: William Shatner is Orion.
HCS Voice-Packs is a website that releases voice add-ons for the SF-MMO “Elite: Dangerous” in collaboration with Frontier. And on April 8, a very special voice pack will be released, featuring William Shatner.
The former Captain Kirk has recorded over 1300 phrases. The voice pack is named “Orion.” But beware: This is not directly related to Elite Dangerous, but is an additional offering from another company that must be purchased separately.
The joke is that Orion is a kind of “on-board computer” that can be fed with voice commands. This fits into the world of Elite, as they are very committed to immersion, and a commanding ship commander fits perfectly into that vision.
