Normally we hear more about price increases when it comes to cash shops in online games. Not so in the space game Elite Dangerous.
As the game’s developers announced via the official forum, there have been some adjustments to the prices in the in-game shop of Elite Dangerous. However, not to the detriment of the players, quite the opposite. There was a downtime during which the shop was unavailable. The developers used this time to reduce the prices of the items.
Many things are getting cheaper!
The reduction in prices applies to a selection of items and is meant to demonstrate how prices in the shop will evolve in the near future. Frontier Developments believes that the new pricing structure reflects a better value of the items and benefits players who want to personalize their gaming experience.
That is certainly good news for the players of Elite Dangerous. In-game shops are often criticized by players, as the prices for some items are not justifiable. Are the costs for creating any cosmetic items like ship skins really that high for the developers?
Wouldn’t they make more revenue if the prices were lower? We’ll see if possibly more players will now use the cash shop of Elite Dangerous.
