Frontier Developments will soon give you the opportunity to name your spaceship in the space online game Elite: Dangerous and to give it a nameplate – but this is not for free.
The spaceship Enterprise from Star Trek, the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, or the Rocinante from The Expanse… good ships need a name. And in the space online game Elite: Dangerous, you will soon have the chance to give your ship one. After all, it makes it all the more fun not only to take down a pilot, but also a spaceship that bears a special name.
Show the name of your ship
Once it has a name, it will appear in multicrew groups and also in the HUD. Additionally, starting from beta 5, the name will be visible when other players scan you.
Naming the spaceship will be free, just like renaming it. However, if you also want to get a premium nameplate, you will need to purchase it. This will only have cosmetic effects.
You will have various packages available, which are organized by themes and designs. For each set, you will receive nine nameplates that can be applied to all your ships. One set is supposed to cost 2 Euros.
Nameplates for all your spaceships
If you buy a themed package, you can use this design for all your current and future ships. Theme packs are available in black, white, and gray designs. With this, the developers want to give players another opportunity to further customize their spaceship in Elite: Dangerous. If you have always wanted to give your ship a name and display it on a nameplate, then this update is made just for you.
