For a long time, speculation has been rife, and the appearance of mysterious aliens in Elite: Dangerous hinted that the Thargoids are returning with Patch 2.4!
This has now been officially confirmed by the developer studio Frontier Developments. With Update 2.4, the great conflict begins. While the aliens have not yet conducted any attacks, this will soon change. Until now, the gigantic ships have only appeared sporadically in space, scanning ships or interacting with alien artifacts on some planets. Players cannot intervene yet.
The aliens are back
But Update 2.4 will bring the first battles between humans and Thargoids. The developers announce that humanity must prepare for war.
Their territories are slowly being taken over by the Thargoids. New technologies and tactics are needed to contend with this seemingly overpowering enemy. Humanity has already dealt with the aliens before. But how that conflict turned out is today a silent secret. The existence of the aliens has been obscured and all evidence destroyed. But now they are returning.
A new dynamic enters the game
At this time, it is unclear what intentions the Thargoids have, but during the first encounter, they revealed themselves as superior fighters. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare for a conflict. With the appearance of the Thargoids, the dynamics of Elite Dangerous are changing, as you must also expect to encounter hostile aliens everywhere.
Update 2.4 is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2017 for the space online game Elite Dangerous.
