Frontier Developments has released the next update of the space online game Elite Dangerous with Beyond: Chapter Two.
The war against the alien Thargoids continues, and you can now experience this in the new, free update Beyond: Chapter Two, which introduces additional missions among other things.
What to expect from Beyond: Chapter Two
Many innovations. Among the things that the update brings are:
- New Wing Mining Missions
- Additional USS scenarios and missions leading you there
- Megaship interactions have been added to installations
- “Escape Hatch” interaction points introduced on damaged megaships
- You can now surrender to security contacts if you have outstanding bounties and no bad reputation. You will then be taken to the nearest prison
- Friendly Fire against NPC ships has been adjusted, which should lead to fewer “accidental crimes”
- Your bad reputation now decays while you are docked
- The current reputation of players in the cockpit is displayed correctly
- You can purchase new Guardian weapons and technologies from the Tech Brokers to have better chances against the Thargoids
- The two ships Krait Mk II and the Alliance Challenger are newly added
Moreover, several other new features, adjustments, and bug fixes have made their way into the game.
A big update is still to come. The developers of Elite Dangerous are currently working on another major update. This is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2018. It will include among other things:
- Squadrons
- Improved Mining
- Exploration that is more rewarding
