The powerful wizards of the online game Citadel – Forged with Fire have surely been waiting for this: 2018 brings the cultivation of plants into the game. Is there a whiff of the cult classics Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley drifting through the sandbox of Citadel?
Wizards also need plants. You will grow these yourself in the online game Citadel: Forged with Fire in the upcoming year 2018, as the game is set to be expanded with a farming system.

Grow your own plants
The developers have now given a preview of how this system will work. First, you need to obtain seeds that you find in the game world. Then you unlock the “recipe” for a bed. You build this in your fortress and plant the collected seeds there. Afterwards, you need to take care of making the plants grow.
A sprinkler system takes a lot of work off your hands
You regularly water the bed, which you either do manually or you create a magical sprinkler system. This then automatically ensures that the plants receive enough water. However, the system needs to be connected to a mana generator. Additionally, the plants need fertilizer, which you can either distribute yourself or also do this via the sprinkler system. Over time, you will have many plants that you can harvest when they are ripe.
The developers of Citadel – Forged with Fire will reveal what purpose the plants serve in the upcoming year.
Plants and farming have a long tradition in games: In cult classics like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, everything revolves around sowing and harvesting.
Perhaps the plants are somehow connected to the endgame of Citadel, which was recently expanded with dungeons.
