Edengrad places you in the role of a descendant of those who survived the near-destruction of Earth. Civilization has collapsed, and the few remaining humans fight for their survival. You create a character and forge your path in the sandbox world. Survival is the top priority, as dangers await in the form of mutated creatures or other players. The open-PvP system even allows you to take items from defeated enemies as loot.
Cities and Territorial Wars
You also have the option to join forces with other players to establish settlements, which you can expand into thriving cities and trading posts. You can continually enlarge the influence of these cities, which eventually leads to territorial wars. By then, you should have trained your skills well, which improve through use. Throughout the game, you will have many opportunities to influence the game world. For example, by cutting down an entire forest and thereby altering the flora and fauna of the area.
If you want to know how Edengrad plays, you can participate in the now-launched pre-alpha. This provides you with a first glimpse into the post-apocalyptic world of the MMORPG. However, not all features are integrated yet. The construction of a city and declarations of war, for instance, have not yet been implemented. The pre-alpha of Edengrad initially focuses on testing the basic gameplay mechanics.
Not Everyone Can Play
However, there is a catch. The pre-alpha is currently only available for backers of the crowdfunding campaigns. According to a forum post, there seem to be some issues with Steam, making it currently impossible to join the early access phase via the game platform. When Edengrad will be available for purchase on Steam as early access, allowing you to participate in the testing phase, is currently unknown.
