In EA FC 26 the first Player of the Month (POTM) cards have been released. We show you which players have won, what attributes their cards have, and whether the SBCs are really worth it.
What is POTM? The “Player of the Month” is again an integral part of Ultimate Team in EA FC 26. Monthly, the best players in the major European leagues are awarded and receive their own card, equipped with upgrades.
The upgrades typically affect:
- Rating
- Stats
- Positions
- PlayStyles
- Roles
- Weak Foot/Special Moves Skills
How significant the upgrade is depends on the base card of the POTM. The stronger the player’s base card, the smaller the upgrade will be.
On the official POTM voting page of EA Sports, you can vote for your POTM from the previous month from a pool of suggested candidates every month.
Which POTMs are there? So far, there are a total of 5 POTMs in FC 26.

All POTMs at a glance – Which upgrades and SBCs are worth it?
How to get POTM? The players appear as Squad Building Challenges in the SBC menu. You can find them under the tab “All” or “Pro.” POTMs can only be completed once as untradeable SBCs.
The requirements vary depending on the strength of the card. The stronger the card, the higher the requirements for the respective SBC.
Below, we present all previous POTMs and their upgrades and reveal which Player of the Month are truly worth it.
POTM Premier League – Erling Haaland (Cost: 670,000 coins)
The Norwegian was once again on fire in September, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in 3 matches. This puts his direct goal involvement rate per match at 2, earning him the POTM award for September in the Premier League.

Is POTM Haaland worth it? The upgrades concerning the stats are rather minor. The most interesting aspect is the new PlayStyle+ Strength, which provides Haaland with even more resilience in direct duels with his opponents. Combined with his powerful physique, he could be very hard to dispossess, making him a strong target in the center of the attack.
Since Haaland does not really fit into the current meta of small, agile players, you should first give his Gold card a chance. You can get it for almost 600,000 coins less on the transfer market and can sell it again.
POTM Bundesliga – Harry Kane (Cost: approx. 190,000 coins)
In the Bundesliga, Harry Kane scored 7 goals and provided 1 assist in 3 games in September 2025. That makes for more than 2 goal involvements per game.

Is POTM Kane worth it? Especially in speed, the upgrade of the POTM is evident. In addition, POTM Kane has the Flatter Shot, the golden PlayStyle that fits better with the current meta than the Curled Shot of the Gold card.
However, Harry Kane already has a Team of the Week (TOTW) card that has nearly the same upgrades and offers a crucial Pass+ additional PlayStyle that fits better with the current meta.
Therefore, we recommend you try the TOTW Kane (90) first to see how you fare with the forward. The TOTW card costs 125,000 coins, which is also 60,000 coins cheaper and can be resold.
POTM Serie A – Christian Pulisic (Cost: approx. 320,000 coins)
In Serie A, Pulisic contributed to AC Milan with 3 goals and 2 assists in 3 games. This gives him an impressive figure of more than 1.6 direct goal involvements per game in September 2025.

Is POTM Pulisic worth it? The upgrade from 84 to 87 looks very solid at such an early point in FC 26. In fact, with the upgrade, Pulisic is among the 20 strongest wingers in the game, according to the Meta rating of the EasySBC site.
With his new role of False 9++, you can also use Pulisic in the center forward position. However, as with Kane, you should test the almost equivalent TOTW card first. TOTW Pulisic costs about 175,000 coins, which is almost 150,000 coins cheaper and can also be sold if necessary.
POTM LaLiga EA Sports – Kylian Mbappé (Cost: approx. 4.2 million coins)
Mbappé’s performance in September in LaLiga EA Sports: 4 goals and 1 assist in 4 games. This made the French attacker a candidate for POTM and awarded him Player of the Month for September.

Is POTM Mbappé worth it? Absolutely not. The upgrades are only minimal. Only Frenzy+ is a real upgrade compared to the Gold card, but never justifies a price increase of around 1.6 million coins for POTM Mbappé.
In any case, the SBC is only interesting for very few players in FC 26, as it exceeds the budget of most players by far at 4.2 million coins.
POTM Liga F – Luany (Cost: approx. 64,000 coins)
The Brazilian playing for Atlético Madrid helped her team in September 2025 with 3 goals and 1 assist in 4 games. The strong average of one goal involvement per game secured Luany the POTM for September.

Is POTM Luany worth it? Luany has received the strongest upgrade of all POTMs so far. However, the price of about 64,000 coins for an 85-rated card is a steep price. If you have 83 and 84-rated cards left, you might try to complete the SBC for fewer coins.
POTM Luany could become interesting for tournaments, as her 85-rated card fits the current requirements (max. one 86-rated player) for live tournaments.
