Why do I need backup codes? It is possible that many EA FC fans will want to log in at the same time when the web app launches. This has often led to login issues in the past.
The exact issue with previous FC releases was always: Players had to re-verify themselves to access the web app.
To this end, EA sends a corresponding code via email. However, in previous releases, it often happened that this email took a long time to arrive because so many users wanted their code at the same time.
However, you can try to prepare in advance with a backup code and bypass the potential problem. We will show you how.
How to use backup codes for EA FC 26
This is how backup codes work: This is another verification option with EA that you can prepare for now. With the codes, you can log in if the email with the verification code does not arrive.
This is how you get backup codes:
- Log into your EA account (via EA.com), using the user icon in the upper right corner.
- If you land back on the main page, click the icon again.
- Select account settings.
- Click on “Privacy and Security”.
- Go to “Two-Factor Authentication (previously Login Verification)”.
- There you will find the backup codes section, where you need to click “Show”.
- You may receive a verification code via email for this. This is not the correct code yet. However, you need this code to display the other codes.
- Therefore, it is crucial that you take this step before the web app release, otherwise you could encounter the same problem again.
- Now you will receive 6 personal codes that you can write down and use for logging in.
- Do not share these codes, as they can be used to log into your EA accounts. Keep them safe or delete them after use.
If, like before, there are login issues at the start of the web app, you will at least have one more way to log in. However, keep in mind that in the web app, you can only access the management aspects of Ultimate Team – real gameplay on the virtual football pitch will only be available for early access on Friday.
