In EA FC 25 you have the opportunity to see how high the chances are of finding top cards in packs. We will tell you whether it is more likely to pull a player like Mbappé or Haaland this year.
The dream of every FUT player is to have the best cards in their own team. However, this is not so easy in Ultimate Team, as the best cards are often incredibly expensive and therefore unattainable for many players.
While you can earn some coins through smart trading, buying top cards like Mbappé on the transfer market requires a lot of skill and patience.
That’s why many players hope to get good cards faster through pack opening. But what do the chances look like?
Top cards are slightly more likely than last year
Here are the chances: In the FUT store, players can take a closer look at all the current packs. The probabilities of strong cards are displayed, so at least one can see to some extent how high the chance is of getting a card with good stats.
If you take a close look at the chances in FC 25 Ultimate Team, you will find that the probabilities are about the same as at the launch of FC 24.
Here you can see the differences:
- Premium Gold Pack in FC 24 – Gold Player (84+) – 7.7 % (as of 21.09.2023)
- Premium Gold Pack in FC 25 – Gold Player (84+) – 7.9 % (as of 02.10.2024)
So don’t expect a top card to appear in every pack. With 7.9 % in FC 25, your chance looks only slightly better than last year.
It should also be noted that it is unclear how the distribution within this 7.9 % looks. It can be assumed that the chance for an 84-rated player is significantly higher than, for example, for a 91-rated player.
Probabilities in the Premium Gold Pack
The classic pack that is always available is the Premium Gold Pack. The pack costs the same as last year, 7,500 coins, but, as shown in our comparison, has only a slightly higher probability of pulling top cards. You have a 7.9 % chance of pulling a player with an 84+ rating.
The chance of getting a special card, such as a Team of the Week player, is currently under 1 % and therefore also extremely low.
Probabilities in Promo Packs
The trend in FC Ultimate Team is that EA is releasing more and more promo packs. These usually have better probabilities but are also significantly more expensive. For example, the Premium Gold Professionals Pack, which currently costs 25,000 coins, offers a 7.9 % chance for an 86+ player. You can get a TOTW card at 3.1 %. However, this does not mean that it has to be a worthwhile strong TOTW card.
If you are willing to spend more coins or FC Points, the chances increase significantly. The current Season Kick-Off Deluxe Pack (as of October 2, 2024) offers a 45 % chance of getting an 88+ card. However, this pack is also extremely expensive at 150,000 coins and the cards are untradeable, meaning you cannot list them on the transfer market.
So if you pull a strong 88+ card that doesn’t fit into your team or one that you already own, you cannot sell it. You can only use it as SBC fodder.
Are packs worth it? In summary, it can be said that packs in FC 25 remain a losing proposition. Only with extreme luck can you pull a very strong card. Therefore, it is recommended not to purchase packs from the shop, but to earn packs through tasks and higher ranks in Division Rivals or Squad Battles.
