Why do I need backup codes? It is possible that the launch of the web app causes everyone to want to log in at the same time. And that has often led to login issues in the past.
The precise problem with previous FIFA/FC releases was always: Players had to verify themselves again to access the web app.
To this end, EA sends a corresponding code via email. However, with previous releases, it happened that this took a very long time because so many users wanted their code at the same time.
Now, however, you can try to prepare in advance with a backup code and bypass the potential problem. We will show you how to do this.
How to use backup codes for EA FC 25
This is how backup codes work: This is another verification option at EA that you can prepare for now. With them, you can log in if the email with the verification code simply does not arrive.
How to get backup codes:
- Log in to your EA account (via EA.com), through the user icon in the top right corner.
- If you land back on the main page, click on the icon again.
- Select account settings.
- Click on “Security”.
- There you will find the backup code section, where you need to click on “View”.
- You may receive a verification code via email for this. This is not yet the correct code. However, you need this code to display the other codes.
- Therefore, it is crucial that you take this step before the web app release, as otherwise you could encounter the same problem again.
- Now you will receive 6 personal codes that you can write down and use for login.
- Do not share these codes, as they can be used to log into your EA accounts. Keep them safe or delete them after use.
If there are login issues at the launch of the web app as before, you at least have one more option to log in.
However, please note that in the web app you can only access the management aspects of Ultimate Team – real gameplay on the virtual soccer field will only be available with early access on Friday.
