EA Sports FC 24 is supposed to bring Squad Battles with 4 minutes, but players are searching in vain for the setting. However, the solution is simple.
What is the problem? In the new features for Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC, EA announced that Squad Battles this year would have only 4-minute halves instead of 6-minute halves.
However, players were puzzled: When starting a Squad Battles match, the start screen before the game still shows 6 minutes. There is no option to change the setting.
But that’s actually not necessary.
Incorrect display in Squad Battles, but the 4 minutes are correct
This is the solution: In fact, you don’t need to worry about the setting for the game time because the halves in Squad Battles already run for only 4 minutes, all automatically.
So you don’t need to set anything. The 6 minutes on the match start screen appear to simply be an incorrect representation.
When the Squad Battles rewards come, you can find out here.
How can I check this? If you want to check how the half-length is on your end, just start a stopwatch at the kickoff. If you now pay attention to having no interruptions from cutscenes (e.g., during goals, throw-ins, fouls, etc.), you will come to exactly 4 minutes per half.
Why is the half-length important? Players have been calling for a streamlining of the Squad Battles matches for a long time, as many like to use them to get rewards. Especially when you play against the AI, such games can take a very long time.
This could be a thing of the past with the shorter half. Additionally, only 32 matches per week are counted towards the reward leaderboard, instead of 40 like before.
