A leak for the E3 2019 has revealed what we can expect from Ubisoft this year. It looks like a Rainbow Six titled “Quarantine” is coming for PvE fans.
What was leaked? According to insider Nibel, Ubisoft is set to present a new Rainbow Six shooter named “Quarantine” at their press conference on Monday.
Quarantine is allegedly a PvE shooter with co-op functionality for up to four players. The information and rumors that are already known sound like an attempt by Ubisoft to venture into the zombie survival genre.
Nibel shared this information in a short tweet:
Rainbow Six: Quarantine – Not a completely new game
This suggests Quarantine: Based on the rather sparse information so far, the description of Quarantine along with some unconfirmed rumors sounds like a kind of Left 4 Dead or World War Z.
Quarantine sounds like a classic zombie survival shooter where up to four players will face off against hordes of zombies while trying to achieve a goal.
A similar mode was already present in the already popular Rainbow Six: Siege, which was released in 2015. In the Operation Outbreak in March 2018, players could already face a type of zombies in co-op. The cover image is also from the Outbreak event.
However, the mode was only available for a few weeks back then. But according to some opinions, it seemed too well-developed to receive such a short duration. This also suggests that Quarantine could be the elaboration of Outbreak.
Will this be the continuation of Siege? Quarantine will not replace Rainbow Six: Siege. Ubisoft has already confirmed that Siege is too successful to receive a successor. However, Quarantine is based on PvE gameplay anyway.
So it is very likely that Ubisoft wants to attract players to the Rainbow Six franchise with Quarantine, who find Siege too PvP-focused and prefer to play quietly with friends.
We will probably learn more about Quarantine only at Ubisoft’s press conference at E3. There are also more highlights waiting:
