The big reveal for this year’s Call of Duty took place at the end of April: Call of Duty WW2 is coming, developed by Sledgehammer Games.
The setting is World War II. After the sci-fi settings of the last years with Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare, we are going back to the past in 2017. The motto “Boots on the Ground” has been emphasized several times. You will be fighting with boots on the ground and will not be floating in space with laser weapons. It is supposed to be a “down-to-earth” shooter – back to the roots.

This strategy has been well received by CoD fans so far. The reveal trailer was rated significantly better than last year’s CoD: Infinite Warfare. It remains to be seen whether WW2’s appearance at E3 will also excite the fans.
Expect to see more of it during the Sony press conference – perhaps even gameplay of the “Nazi Zombies” mode?
Call of Duty WW2 will be released on November 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
