What kind of feature is this? Dynamax is a feature known from the main Pokémon games. Here, your monsters take on gigantic forms and can use the so-called Dynamax attacks.
This feature will now make its way to Pokémon GO in the new season “Dyna-Maximum”. The corresponding event, which activates Dynamax in the game, begins on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

Power Sources and Dynamax Particles
How can I collect the particles? To participate in Dynamax battles, you need a new resource called Dyna-Particles. You can obtain these by visiting the new power sources (where you will receive 120 particles) and for every 2 km (where you can get 300 particles) that you walk. You can collect up to 800 particles per day.
Power sources will be available in addition to gyms and PokéStops in the game, and they will not replace them.
How many particles are needed for a battle? Once you have collected 250 particles, you can participate in a Dynamax battle against Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Stronger Dynamax Pokémon in the future may require more particles to challenge them.
Participating in Dynamax Battles
How do I find Dynamax battles? In the menu where you can see nearby Pokémon, raids, and routes, there will be a new tab. Here you can see nearby power sources where you can participate in a Dynamax battle.
Once you head to the corresponding power source and have the necessary particles, you can start the battle. Dynamax battles can only be completed on-site.
How many trainers can participate in a battle? A maximum of 4 trainers can participate in a Dynamax battle. This means you can battle with 3 friends together. However, it is also possible to conduct the battles with fewer trainers or alone.
Each trainer can only participate in the battle with one Dynamax Pokémon.
How does the battle proceed? In the battle, your Pokémon can fill a bar called the “Max Meter.” When this is filled, the monster can execute Dynamaxing.
Your Pokémon can now use the Dynamax attacks. These are limited and cannot be used indefinitely. The first attack can already be used by your Pokémon when caught; the other 2 must be unlocked using Dyna-Particles and candies.
The attacks can be enhanced with particles, candies, and XL candies before the battle. The maximum level for these attacks is 3.
If you successfully complete the battle, you can place a Pokémon at the power source that helps other trainers in their Dynamax battles. For this, you will receive candies.
Additionally, after a battle, you will receive rewards in the form of items such as golden razz berries, special candies, or potions. The number of rewards can be increased using PokéCoins. You will also receive, similar to normal raids, Premier Balls, with which you can catch the Pokémon.
Getting Pokémon for Dynamax Battles
How do I obtain Dynamax Pokémon? You can obtain your first Dynamax Pokémon, Wolly, in the special research called “Dynasty!” This was unlocked on September 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Germany.
Can I use my existing Pokémon for Dynamax? No, you cannot use your current Pokémon for Dynamax.
