Asmodeus
In Dungeons & Dragons, Asmodeus is the supreme ruler of the Nine Hells and one of the most powerful beings in the entire multiverse. As the god of tyranny, sin, and contracts, he embodies the dark side of order, a power that rules not through chaos, but through control, cunning, and sophistication.
In the multiverse, Asmodeus is a charismatic devil with demonic horns, who rarely confronts his enemies with brute force but rather brings them down through seduction, deception, and binding contracts. He commands not only gigantic infernal armies but also manipulates gods with carefully chosen words and tempting deals.
His depiction is based on the figure Asmodai from Jewish and Christian folklore, where he was considered a demon of lust and one of the princes of Hell. Particularly in the Book of Tobit, a part of the Bible, Asmodai is described as a demon who, out of jealousy, kills several husbands of a woman. In medieval demonology, he was often portrayed as a powerful lord of Hell with destructive intelligence.
