The developers of Dune: Awakening have revealed their mysterious PvE event, which is supposed to lead to the big update Chapter 2 with new quests in a chain reaction.
What kind of event is this? The developers of Dune: Awakening have launched an in-game event for the first time since the game’s release. Under the name “CHOAM Salvage Rights Event”, a limited-time action is currently running in the game, where there is even an interesting reward.
Players can look forward to a PvE event in the Hagga Basin, where they will shoot down the Kirab CHOAM freighters with their cannons. The spaceships will then come crashing down in flames in the Hagga Basin, where they are expected by bandits and sandworms.
Here you can watch the trailer for the next update “Chapter 2”:
New quest line leads to Chapter 2
What can players expect? In the survival MMO, players can look forward to a series of new quests that they can receive from the CHOAM traders at the outposts in the Hagga Basin. These are the first new quests since the release of Dune: Awakening and are supposed to advance the story towards Chapter 2.
The missions will follow the trails of the Kirab, including sabotaging their cannons and retrieving valuable cargo from the CHOAM freighters. But not only the Kirab, but also other raiders and the sandworms are supposed to circle threateningly around the loot.
As a conclusion to the quests, a miniature cannon will be rewarded as base decoration, as well as new CHOAM weapons that will come to the game with the event. The event is supposed to take place exclusively in the PvE area of Hagga Basin, so players will neither venture into the dangerous deep desert nor have to compete against other players.
How is the event currently running? Just a few hours after launch, the developers had to temporarily disable the event due to issues. In a statement on Discord, they wrote:
Sleeping,
we are temporarily interrupting the CHOAM Salvage Rights Event due to a problem with the event. In the meantime, we are working on a hotfix and will release it as soon as possible to get the event back on track.
Thank you for your patience.

When the event will go online again is currently unknown. However, the developers of Dune: Awakening have frequently released new updates and hotfixes multiple times a week in the past, so it is possible that the event will be running again soon.
Even though the event had to be interrupted shortly after its start, it is the first time since the release of Dune: Awakening that new quests and an in-game event overall are being launched. In the end, everything is supposed to culminate in the big update “Chapter 2”.
