The developers of Dune: Awakening have announced a server maintenance for September 9, 2025, to implement changes and fixes to the servers of the survival MMO. MeinMMO will inform you when you can expect to play again.
Update on September 9, 2025 – 11:17 a.m.: On the official Discord channel, the developers announce that the servers are back online and the new content is available. The patch notes for 1.2.0.0 can be found at duneawakening.com.
Update from September 9, 2025 – 11:07 a.m.: You can download the new update on Steam. The download size is 8.2 GB.
How long will the servers be offline? According to the developers, the servers of Dune: Awakening will go offline on September 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The maintenance is expected to last about 120 minutes. If everything goes according to plan, you should be able to return to the servers by 12:00 PM. MeinMMO will also update this announcement if there are any delays.
Why is the maintenance happening? Today sees the release of the DLC “Lost Harvest” along with a free content update. New features for all players include:
- Main story continues
- Character editing after creation
- Dynamic encounters
- Contracts in the Social Hub
- New layouts for the Deep Desert
- New archetype armors
- New hairstyles and tattoos
The DLC brings:
- New vehicle
- New quest line with unique locations
- New building elements and decorations
- New armor and weapon skins
- New swatches and emotes
It is currently unclear if all content will be available immediately after the maintenance or if it will follow later in the evening, as is usual with Steam.

What do I need to know about Dune: Awakening? The new survival MMO from Funcom was released on June 10, 2025, for PC and takes you to the desert planet Arrakis. However, you won’t encounter the familiar storyline from the books or movies, but rather an alternative timeline in which Paul Atreides was never born.
Hunger, thirst, sun, aggressive enemies – from the very first moment, survival is the focus of Dune: Awakening. By building better tools, gear, bases, vehicles, and weapons, you will gradually ease your daily life, allowing you to concentrate more on exploring the game world, mastering dungeons, or experiencing the story.
In large parts of the game world, you can encounter up to 39 other players. Exceptions are the two faction capitals and the Deep Desert, a vast endgame area where PvP is active almost everywhere and which changes fundamentally every week due to a storm.
