The developers of Dune: Awakening have announced a server maintenance on July 10, 2025, to implement changes and fixes on the servers of the survival MMO. MeinMMO will let you know when you can expect to play again.
Update from July 10, 2025, 11:25 a.m.: You can now download the new update for Dune: Awakening on Steam. Download size: 1.6 GB. The servers are up and running again. The patch notes (via duneawakening.com):
- Improved client and server stability.
- Fixed an issue where players who disconnected or crashed during a respawn on a different map or server would get a timeout error, preventing them from accessing the game.
- Fixed a rare issue where using vulture mode to cross sector borders in the Deep Desert could cause the ornithopter to fall beneath the terrain and be lost.
- Fixed an issue where sometimes components could fail to spawn in Deep Desert loot.
- Fixed an issue that allowed using rockets to target players out of sight.
How long will the servers be offline? According to the developers, the servers of Dune: Awakening will go offline on July 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The maintenance is expected to last about 90 minutes. If everything goes according to plan, you should be able to access the servers again starting at 11:30 AM. MeinMMO will update this notice in case of any delays.
Why is there maintenance? The developers want to implement unspecified changes and fixes on the servers. The official patch notes will be available once the patch is live. We will include them in this article afterwards.

What do I need to know about Dune: Awakening? The new survival MMO from Funcom was released on June 10, 2025, for PC and takes you to the desert planet Arrakis. However, you will not encounter the familiar story from the books or movies, but rather an alternate timeline in which Paul Atreides was never born.
Hunger, thirst, sun, aggressive enemies – from the very first minute, survival is the focus of Dune: Awakening. As you craft better tools, gear, bases, vehicles, and weapons, your daily life becomes easier, allowing you to focus more on exploring the game world, mastering dungeons, or experiencing the story.
In large parts of the game world, you can encounter up to 39 other players. Exceptions are the two faction capitals and the Deep Desert, a vast endgame area where PvP is active almost everywhere and which fundamentally changes each week due to a storm.
