Dune Awakening has been available on Steam since June 10, 2025. So far, the developers have held two testing phases of the survival MMO. Now there is another one and additionally a good discount for you.
What is this testing phase about? On Steam, the developers of Dune Awakening have announced that they are starting a third testing phase for their survival MMO. From November 20 to November 27, 2025, you can roam through Arrakis for free for 10 hours and fight over the spice.
During your free time, you can explore the entire Haga Basin and carry over your progress if you decide to purchase Dune Awakening. This includes all character progress, your inventory, the hard-built base, and vehicles, which can finally be comfortably saved with a new system.
How much does Dune Awakening cost with the discount? Along with the third testing phase, the survival MMO by developer Funcom is discounted. The biggest discount so far of 25% brings Dune Awakening to a low price of €37.49. The discount even lasts longer than the actual testing phase, until December 1, 2025.
With the testing phase, you can visit your friends in the desert
What is new this time? Unlike previous testing phases of Dune Awakening, you can also visit your friends in the desert this time. Previously, only new so-called “trial servers” were opened.
With the current testing phase until November 27, you are also able to join existing servers of your friends and play together with them.
Are all functions available to you? No, during the testing phase, access to three specific locations is denied. Harko Village, Arrakeen, and the Deep Desert are not available for exploration.
Communication is also somewhat limited. The developers do not specify exactly what these restrictions look like in their post on Steam. Only the reason to prevent bots and griefing was mentioned.
While the launch of Dune Awakening looked really good for the survival MMO, it continues to lose more players. The all-time high of nearly 190,000 concurrent players has long since faded, and currently, it attracts about 6,500 players, but the developers want to address the biggest criticism: Dune: Awakening has been steadily losing players for months – Now the developers are addressing the biggest criticism
