What do the data mean? The manufacturer has actually specified some specific notes. The “minimum requirements” correspond to a Full HD resolution with 30 FPS. However, “minimum requirements” often mean low settings for the game to run smoothly. So, you shouldn’t expect too much.
How smoothly does Dragon’s Dogma 2 run? The manufacturer indicates that the game may suffer from frame drops during very intense action. If you experience problems, you can turn off ray tracing effects on the PC. There are already reports that Dragon’s Dogma 2 on the PS5 is struggling to reach 30 FPS.
According to Nvidia, DLSS is also supposed to be included in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Whether AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS are also included is currently unknown. With the so-called upscalers, you should also achieve better performance.

What hardware do you need? The game requires at least a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5500 (8 GB). Both are graphics cards that are not very fast and are more entry-level cards. For a used Radeon RX 5500, you currently pay around 100 euros, for an RX 6600 with 8 GB VRAM, you pay around 200 euros. The RX 6500 XT would be cheaper, but is only conditionally recommended.
Initial tests of Dragon’s Dogma 2 show that 8 GB of video memory is already very tight. Even the RX 6000 (8 GB), which exceeds the minimum requirements, struggles significantly at Full HD and higher resolutions. Initial tests also show that the game is very CPU-hungry. Therefore, you need a fast, modern processor. Otherwise, you will be bottlenecking your graphics card.
The recommended requirements with GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6700XT are already somewhat higher and are more in the mid-range.
What alternative is there? You can also play Dragon’s Dogma 2 not just on PC but also on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Whether you can use your friends’ companions (Pawns) from other platforms via crossplay is still unknown.
