Rank 3: Muten Roshi

- First appearance: Dragon Ball, Episode 3
- Techniques he taught: Kamehameha
Muten Roshi (The Turtle Hermit) accompanied Son-Goku and Krillin in their early days and taught them the basics of martial arts. For this, he uses special training methods. Until the end, he remains an emotional support as well. He is always by his students’ side, even when they start their own families.
Although the Turtle Hermit is a frail old man, he has quite a bit to offer. During the Tournament of Power, he uses a Kamehameha that draws from his life energy as its power source. This allows Muten Roshi to perform the strongest Kamehameha in his already powerful Max Power form.
Rank 2: Merus

- First appearance: Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 42
- Techniques he taught: Ultra Instinct
Merus and Son-Goku were training partners, of which we unfortunately don’t see much in the manga. The anime, unfortunately, has not progressed far enough for us to see the training in motion.
He is an angel who prepared Son-Goku for the fight against Moro. Since Son-Goku had already heard about the Ultra Instinct from Whis, Merus was able to build on that. He deepened the Saiyan’s knowledge of the Ultra Instinct and taught him to control it better.
Rank 1: Whis

- First appearance: Dragon Ball Super, Episode 1
- Techniques he taught: Ultra Instinct, Super Saiyan Blue
Whis is the elder brother of Merus and also an angel. He is even stronger than Beerus, the God of Destruction. This is evident, among other things, from the fact that Whis has trained Beerus. The angel also trains Son-Goku together with Vegeta and teaches him the fundamentals of Ultra Instinct. Through training with Whis, it became possible for Son-Goku to become a Super Saiyan Blue.
Whis is so powerful that he has yet to lift a finger in battles. He has evaded every serious attack so far, and it seems that no opponent would want to start a fight with him any time soon. That’s why he has comfortably settled into the number 1 spot in our ranking – probably with a slice of pizza.
