Who are these tips for? The tips are mainly aimed at beginners who are not familiar with 3D fighting games in the Dragon Ball universe and at players who haven’t fought virtually for a long time. Some tips may also be useful for professionals looking to get the most out of their game.
What kind of tips are these? The following tips not only relate to gameplay but also to mechanics outside of the combat system.
Do not buy too many characters with Zeni, it was added that you will get the Zeni back if you had unlocked a character but bought him instead.

1. Do not buy too many characters with Zeni
When you start Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero, you initially see a pretty good roster of characters. Many fan favorites, like the movie villains or side characters, are still not unlocked. When you are in the shop, you can buy them with your Zeni. However, this is not recommended – at least if you want to play the single-player content.
While the focus is clearly on multiplayer, many players still want to play the episode or world tournament mode. It is worth it if you want to unlock characters. Most of them can be unlocked in these modes without spending Zeni. Some, however, can be unlocked in hidden side battles.
Some characters (and costumes) are available through the 3 Dragons, for which you need the Dragon Balls. You can also find them in the character episodes.
It should also be noted: You will get the Zeni back if you bought a character but would have unlocked him in the story.
2. Don’t be blinded by the characters’ values
The many characters in Sparking! Zero are divided into ZP. 1 is the weakest and 10 is the best. When building your team for the ranked mode, you should not just look at the ZP, as characters that only cost 5 ZP can also be powerful fighters.
On the one hand, this is due to the combos. If you are good defensively, you can hold down even the strongest fighters with mediocre characters and deal enormous damage. Also, good defense ensures that you are less likely to be hit by strong attacks.
Do not underestimate transformations either. Characters that initially only have a medium ZP value can transform during a fight without you having to worry about the high costs.

3. Use the Sparking! mode wisely – It is one of the best tools
The best tool in the game is probably the Sparking! mode. You reach it when you charge your energy to the maximum. In this mode, you can use your ultimate attack. But more importantly, it gives you a new combat opportunity.
In the normal state, your combo throws your opponent away quite quickly. While you can perform a teleport attack a couple of times, this can easily be countered by a dodge teleport.
In Sparking! mode, you can land over 10 hits with your combo with the right timing and then also hit the ultimate attack. This allows you to deal enormous damage.
