With the recently announced Nvidia GTX 1080, the upcoming shooter Doom achieves extremely high FPS.
Nvidia presented the graphics cards GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 at their own event, promising high performance and energy efficiency. That these are not just empty words was immediately demonstrated: During the event, the presenters showcased what the GeForce GTX 1080 can extract from the upcoming shooter Doom.
Initially, they let Doom run at Ultra settings with stable 60 FPS at 1080 resolution. Already at the start, the graphics can be seen, but the presenter takes it a step further: He “unlocks” the frame rates and lets the frame frequency shoot up.

Just a few weeks ago, it was confirmed that Doom will be released without FPS lock on PC to enable such gaming experiences. PC gamers will be pleased – at least those who can eventually call such graphics cards their own.
