Actually, the RTX 4060 was supposed to be the best entry into the world of RX 4000, but currently, it is not a good option. This is due to its performance, small video memory, and the price that retailers charge for the GPU.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
The RX 6700 XT is significantly faster than the RX 4060 and can also be easily used for resolutions like WQHD (1440p).
With 12 GB of video memory, the RX 6700 XT is much better equipped than the RTX 4060 (8 GB) and therefore better suited for gaming.
The only downside: With an AMD graphics card, you have to forgo DLSS 3.0 and better ray tracing performance. With AMD, you can “only” use FSR, which is somewhat worse than DLSS. If that doesn’t matter to you, then you can confidently choose the RX 6700 XT.
RTX 3060 Ti
If you prefer to buy Nvidia instead of AMD, you can also opt for the RTX 3060 Ti. The graphics card is also significantly faster than the RTX 4060 and also offers you sufficient performance if you want to play at WQHD (1440p).
While the RTX 3060 Ti also offers “only” 8 GB of video memory, it is faster with a 256bit bus than the 128bit bus of the RTX 4060. The limited video memory could become a big problem in 2023.
You can use DLSS with the RTX 3060 Ti, but you have to forgo DLSS 3.0. Because you can only use it exclusively with newer RTX 4000 GPUs.
Intel Arc A750
With Intel’s Arc A750, you get a good mid-range graphics card that sits between the RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6600. At launch, in winter 2022, the GPU struggled with software and driver issues. By now, Intel’s first mid-range graphics card can be recommended if you don’t want to go with AMD or Nvidia.
Especially the price of around 250 euros makes the A750 an attractive offer. You will pay a higher price for the RTX 3060 Ti (320 euros) and the RX 6700 XT (340 euros). The A750 offers about the same performance in benchmarks as the RTX 4060, but for less money.
The A750 also supports Intel XeSS: This is Intel’s upscaling technology and is comparable to DLSS and FSR.
RTX 4060 Ti
The RTX 4060 Ti is the big sister of the RTX 4060. Like the 4060, it struggles with a small video memory (8 GB) and a too high price, but in direct comparison, it offers significantly more performance. So if you are looking for an upgrade for your aging Nvidia graphics card and it must absolutely be a GPU from the 4000 series, then you will get a significantly higher performance increase with the RTX 4060 Ti compared to the 4060.
It is especially worth it if you are coming from an old graphics card like a GTX 1060 and are looking for a suitable upgrade for your gaming system.
Exclusive features like DLSS 3 and Frame Generation can also be easily used with the RTX 4060 Ti. In the future, there will also be an RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of video memory, but the price will be over 500 euros.
